GLOVERS NEWS: Final farewells to a true Yeovil Town legend

FAMILY and friends will gather at Yeovil Crematorium on Tuesday (March 28, 2017) to say their final farewells to record-breaking former Yeovil Town striker Dave Taylor who died earlier this month.

The funeral service will take place at Yeovil Crematorium at 10.40am. Family flowers only please, but well-wishers are invited to make a donation in aid of the Monkey World at Wareham in Dorset.

Cheques and donations may be sent c/o Clive Wakely at A. J. Wakely & Sons, 33 Sparrow Road, Yeovil, Somerset BA21 4BT. Cheques should be made payable to the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund – an organisation set up to the benefit Monkey World.

Dave Taylor died on March 12, 2017, at the age of 76. He is Yeovil Town’s post-war record goal scorer having netted 284 times for the Glovers in 436 appearances between 1960 and 1969 – a scoring feat which is likely never to be broken.

RIP Dave Taylor.
