GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town bounce back with a win

YEOVIL Town players will turn up for training tomorrow (Monday, September 19, 2016) with an extra spring in their step following a much-needed victory at the weekend.

A single Tom Eaves goal on 76 minutes gave the Glovers a 1-0 success at Leyton Orient and moved them out of the relegation zone of the League Two table.

It was their first league victory since the win over Notts County on the opening day of the 2016-17 season.

The match at Leyton Orient on Saturday (September 17, 2016) also saw club captain Darren Ward make his first appearance of the campaign for the Glovers.

Yeovil had started the day in the bottom two of the table, while Orient were pushing for the play-off spots so a three-point haul at Brisbane Road delighted Glovers’ boss Darren Way.

The Leyton Orient starting line-up featured three former Yeovil players – Harry Cornick, Gavin Massey and Tom Parkes.

The home side certainly pushed for an equaliser, but Yeovil held firm to grab a vital victory.

The win saw Yeovil move up to 21st in the table – ahead of Newport County, Exeter City and Cambridge United.
