YEOVIL Town have slipped into the relegation zone following a disastrous 4-1 defeat at Port Vale this afternoon (Saturday, October 11, 2014) in the Sky Bet League One.

It was horrible display by the Glovers with the defence torn apart by Port Vale who began the day below Yeovil in the League One table.RESULT: Port Vale 4, Yeovil Town 1

Port Vale broke the deadlock in the 18th minute when Tom Pope scored. He then made it 2-0 to the home side ten minutes later.

It was game over soon after the start of the second period when Chris Lines netted.

Aaron Martin got Yeovil on the scoresheet on 86 minutes, but there was still time for Port Vale to add a fourth goal through Colin Daniel.

It was a terribly poor performance and saw Yeovil move into the bottom four of the table - with growing frustration among the supporters for manager Gary Johnson to sort things out.

But the League One table still remains incredibly tight and despite being in the relegation zone, Yeovil are only six points away from the play-offs!
