Yeovil Town say farewell to Ed Upson

YEOVIL Town fans are this morning (Saturday, February 1, 2014) still coming to terms with the fact that midfielder Ed Upson has left the club.

The 24-year-old yesterday joined Sky Bet Championship rivals Millwall for an undisclosed fee – although earlier suggestions had placed the price tag at around £100,000.

Upson made 148 appearances for Yeovil in nearly four years and scored 17 goals.

He will always be remembered for scoring the goal that clinched Yeovil’s place in last season’s Play-Off Final with Brentford at Wembley when he netted a late winner in the semi-final second leg against Sheffield United at Huish Park.

Upson also scored Yeovil’s first-ever goal in the Championship this season – the winner in a 1-0 success ironically at Millwall.

His new club will be visiting Huish Park on Tuesday, February 11, in a 7.45pm kick-off in a crucial match for both teams with Millwall and Yeovil trying to avoid relegation.
