ON this day in history on October 6, 2001, Yeovil Town drew 1-1 with Morecambe at Huish Park in the Nationwide Conference.
Yeovil’s goal was scored by Nick Crittenden in the 89th minute.
A crowd of 2,404 was at Huish Park for the match.
The game kicked-off early to avoid clashing with England’s crucial World Cup Qualifying Round match with Greece.
Supporters will remember it well because David Beckham (pictured above) scored a cracker of a free-kick at Old Trafford in stoppage time to draw England level and secure them an automatic spot for the 2002 World Cup Finals.
