Football: Yeovil Town like springing surprises

YEOVIL Town are slowly but surely becoming one of the surprise teams of the season in npower League One and now sit just one spot below the play-off zone.Football: Yeovil Town like springing surprises

The Glovers have often been among the favourites with the bookmakers at the start of the season to be struggling near the foot of the table, but each year Yeovil like to teach the bookies a lesson – and the 2012-13 campaign looks like being no different!

Optimism is beginning to grow at Huish Park of what could happen between now and the end of the season – even more so after Tuesday night’s 2-1 success over MK Dons, arguably one of the top sides in the division.

And Yeovil boss Gary Johnson said: “We knew that if we got a positive result against MK Dons we would find ourselves like a cat amongst the pigeons in the top seven or eight.

“We’re getting closer to where we want to be.”

A win over Brentford on Saturday (Feb 2) at Huish Park could push them even closer.
