Football: Leyton Orient 1, Yeovil Town 0

A LAST GASP goal from David Mooney broke Yeovil Town hearts tonight in London as the Glovers bowed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.Football: Leyton Orient 0, Yeovil Town 1

Mooney headed home from close range the only goal of the game to give Leyton Orient a 1-0 success in the semi-final showdown at Brisbane Road.

It meant former Yeovil boss Russell Slade, now boss at Orient, got one over his former club and moved a step closer towards a Wembley final.

Yeovil had been backed by an 800-strong travelling support - thanks largely to the Glovers providing free transport with sponsored coaches.

But despite all of their efforts the Yeovil players could not give their supporters anything to cheer about.

Yeovil had been given hope when their hosts were reduced to ten men when Anthony Griffin was sent-off in the 76th minute for a second bookable offence, but it was not to be.

Orient now move into the Southern Area Final where they will face either Oxford United or Southend United. The winners of that tie will then face the Northern Area winners in the final at Wembley Stadium.

As for Yeovil, they can now concentrate on the npower League One and bid to get into the play-off places.
