Football: Big three points for Yeovil Town

YEOVIL Town moved up to 11th in the npower League One table tonight with an excellent 3-1 victory at Shrewsbury Town.  Football: Big three points for Yeovil Town

Striker Paddy Madden, currently on loan with the Glovers from Carlisle United, took his tally to five goals in four games with a brace, either side of an effort from his forward partner James Hayter.

Shrewsbury got a consolation when Glovers' new loan signing Daniel Johnson, of Aston Villa, conceded a penalty which was tucked away by Matt Richards.

Madden needed less than ten minutes to put Yeovil on their way with a header from close range past former Glovers shot-stopper Chris Weale.

Hayter netted the all-important second goal for the Glovers on the hour mark and then Madden got his second of the night in the 70th minute.

Midfielder Johnson had been introduced to the fray as a 63rd minute substitute, but he was adjudged to have fouled Tom Bradshaw inside the box which saw Richards tuck away the resulting penalty with just nine minutes to go.

The victory will put Yeovil in good spirits for their trip to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday as they look to move into the top ten in the League One table and with one eye firmly on the play-off positions.
