Jack the Ripper manuscript....in Chinese!

A MANUSCRIPT discovered at Montacute TV Radio Toy Museum in 2007 about Jack the Ripper has just been translated into traditional Chinese and published in Taiwan!   

This being just the first of the two versions of Chinese in which it is to be published.  It is also to be published in main land China.

Alan Hicken (pictured), curator of Montacute TV Radio Toy Museum, said: “It is really amazing a manuscript discovered in the museum of this small Somerset village has kindled such intrigue the other side of the world.

"Apart from the obvious difference that the book is written in Chinese characters, it also starts at the back and reads down the page."

Alan added: “Don’t buy the Chinese version if you don’t read Chinese! Luckily enough the English paperback came out on October 11."

Come and see the free exhibition at Montacute Museums Tearooms to discover more about the book and how it came to the museum via Hulme Beaman the creator of Larry the Lamb. The exhibition is on display until November 4. You can buy a signed hardback with a free bookmark.
