GLOVERS NEWS: Disastrous first-half as Yeovil Town fall at home

YEOVIL Town suffered a 3-0 defeat on Saturday (April 7, 2018) at home to promotion-chasing Luton Town in the Sky Bet League Two.

All the drama happened in the first 45 minutes when Luton scored all of their goals and could have scored more, while Yeovil were reduced to nine men with two players being sent-off.

Elliot Lee gave Luton the best possible starts by breaking the deadlock in the fourth minute.

But worse was to follow for Yeovil when Ryan Dickson was sent-off for a professional foul which resulted in Danny Hylton netting a penalty to put Luton 2-0 up on 21 minutes.

Ten minutes later and Yeovil saw red again when striker Francois Zoko was given his marching orders by the referee for violent conduct.

And then Luton added a third goal on 40 minutes when Hylton grabbed his second of the afternoon.

Thankfully for Glovers fans things did not get any worse in the second period although they failed to get themselves back in the fixture.

After the excitement of winning 6-2 at Coventry City on Easter Monday, the Glovers were brought back crashing down to earth in fairly convincing fashion against Luton.

There was a crowd of 4,316 at Huish Park for the match which included 1,126 travelling Luton fans.

The result and others from around the country saw Yeovil left in 18th spot in the League Two table.
