GLOVERS ON MONDAY: What happened on this day in Yeovil Town’s history on February 5?

WELCOME to the Glovers on Monday feature where on each Monday of the week during the football season we will be delving into the recent archives of Yeovil Town FC to find out what happened on the corresponding day in years gone by.

Our search goes from the 1987-1988 season, the year Yeovil won the Vauxhall-Opel Premier League, up to the present day and we will look back at the games featured on this particular day in history.

Today we are looking back at what happened down the years on February 5.

February 5, 2011 – Yeovil Town 0, Charlton Athletic 1: A crowd of 4,651 was at Huish Park as Yeovil Town suffered a 1-0 defeat to the hands of visiting Charlton Athletic in League One.

February 5, 2005 – Macclesfield Town 3, Yeovil Town 1: The Glovers had a poor day at Macclesfield Town as they fell to a 3-1 defeat in the Coca-Cola League Two with their only goal being an “own goal” coming in stoppage time of an otherwise easily forgettable game.

February 5, 2000 – Bedford Town 0, Yeovil Town 4: An own goal and efforts from Warren Patmore, Jason Eaton and Rob Cousins gave Yeovil Town a comfortable 4-0 success at Bedford Town in the Fourth Round of the FA Trophy.

February 5, 1994 – Gateshead 2, Yeovil Town 1: A goal from Mickey Spencer was not enough as Yeovil Town lost 2-1 at Gateshead in the GM Vauxhall Conference.
