LEISURE: Blooming marvellous show for long-running society

THE Holy Trinity Scout Hall was awash with an abundance of smell and colour at the weekend – thanks to the Yeovil Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society.

The society held its 57th open chrysanthemum and dahlia show on Saturday and Sunday (September 16-17) at the scout hall in Plantagenet Chase, off Lysander Road, in Yeovil.

It is the largest show of its kind in the south west region and attracts exhibitors from as far afield as Cornwall, Winchester, North Wales and Salisbury to name but a few.

The Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Darren Shutler and his wife Anna, were on hand to present the prizes on Saturday while town crier Bruce Trigger was also present to make the necessary announcements.

Organisers would like to thank everyone for their support and now look forward to the society’s 73rd open chrysanthemum show and dahlia tuber sale on November 18-19, 2017, also to be held at the Holy Trinity Scout Hall.
