GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town on verge of setting new club “draw” record

ONE more draw from Yeovil Town from their remaining eight League Two games of the season will set a new “high” for the Glovers.

They have currently drawn 15 of their 38 games played in the 2016-17 season in League Two – equalling the amount of draws they achieved in the entire of the 2015-16 campaign.

Fifteen draws already represents the highest number gained in a season ever since the Glovers joined the Football League in 2003-04.

The only other time Yeovil got 15 draws was back in 2008-09 in League One when they finished in 17th spot.

The lowest number of draws in a season for Yeovil was on their debut campaign in 2003-04 in the Nationwide League Division Three (now League Two) when they achieved just five as they missed out on the play-offs on goal difference.

The only two other occasions Yeovil produced less than ten draws in a season was in 2004-05 when they were champions of League Two with eight and then again with eight in 2012-13 when the Glovers finished fourth and later won promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town on verge of setting new club “draw” record Photo 2

Yeovil’s 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley on Saturday (March 17, 2017) was the Glovers’ 157th draw in the Football League which equates to an average of 11.21 drawn matches per campaign in their 14-season FL history.
