GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town march on in Checkatrade Trophy

YEOVIL Town progressed to the Third Round of the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday (December 6, 2016) night with a 4-1 win over MK Dons at Huish Park.

The Glovers went the interval losing 1-0 after Glovers’ defender Alex Lacey had scored an own goal following a bit of a mix-up with keeper Jonny Maddison.

But Yeovil were back on level terms on 49 minutes when Kevin Dawson scored from the penalty spot and then the Glovers went ahead on the hour mark with Francois Zoko netting, also with a penalty.

A turning point came on 68 minutes when MK Dons were reduced to ten men with Samir Carruthers being sent-off for a second bookable offence.

Moments later and Yeovil were 3-1 up with Alex Lacey redeeming himself following his first-half OG by scoring from close range and then Ben Whitfield made the game safe for the Glovers when he netted his side’s fourth on 79 minutes.
