GLOVERS NEWS: Five star Yeovil Town display

YEOVIL Town supporters were given an early Christmas present at Huish Park on Saturday (December 3, 2016) as they enjoyed watching a 5-0 thrashing of Crawley Town in the Sky Bet League Two.

The Glovers turned on the style and found themselves 3-0 up at the interval with goals from Tom Eaves, Ryan Hedges and Otis Khan.

Khan made it 4-0 on 51 minutes and Francois Zoko, who was introduced as a 70th minute substitute for Tom Eaves, took no time at all in making it 5-0.

The victory saw Yeovil move up to sixth place in the table on goal difference from Wycombe Wanderers.

Although there is still a long way to go before anything is decided the battle at the top of the table already looks like being a three-way race between Doncaster Rovers, Carlisle United and Plymouth Argyle.

The play-off positions are going to be keenly contested with – at present – just six points separating fourth to 13th in the table with Portsmouth, Luton Town, Yeovil Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Blackpool, Barnet, Grimsby Town, Crewe Alexandra, Cambridge United and Mansfield Town.

Among the 2,817 crowd at Huish Park to watch Yeovil’s goal bonanza was a certain Paddy Madden – the striker who helped the Glovers to League One Play-Off Final success back in 2013.

Madden is now banging in the goals for Scunthorpe United in League One, but still keeps in close contact with big pal and former Glovers’ team-mate Kevin Dawson who is still plying his trade at Huish Park.
