GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town’s stadium needs cleaning-up say fans

YEOVIL Town supporters believe that the Glovers’ Huish Park stadium is in need of a good clean-up to improve its appearance.

It was one of the main findings of a survey which was carried out by the newly-formed Glovers Trust among its members.

The Glovers Trust held its first-ever annual meeting on September 14, 2016, and is committed to giving supporters a strong unified voice in the decision making process at Yeovil Town FC and strengthening the links between the club and the community that it serves.

The Trust’s board has thanked its ever-growing membership who took part in the “opinion survey” and is still collating and analysing all of the information.GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town’s stadium needs cleaning-up say fans

But a spokesman said: “The preliminary findings of the survey indicate that a large proportion of our members feel that the match-day experience can be improved.

“In particular the appearance of Huish Park is a prime concern. For example, the outer walls of the stadium need to be cleaned to remove the dirt and debris and there are a number of potholes around the ground that are dangerous and unsightly that should be filled in.”

The spokesman added: “These are examples of items that our members have asked the Trust to raise with the club. We are aiming to discuss and agree solutions to these and other issues with the club to improve the overall appearance of the ground and the match day experience.”

The Trust has congratulated the club on holding its own survey to find out the opinions of supporters.

“We are seeking talks with the club at Huish Park as top priority as we firmly believe that their results will mirror the results of our own and we look forward to sitting down with them and discussing our members concerns,” said the spokesman.

Adult membership to join the Glovers Trust is just £10 per year, while it is just £1 per year for those aged under-16 and £100 per year for a corporate membership.
