AIR DAY 2015: Winners announced in ticket giveaway competition

THE Yeovil Press would like to thank everyone who took part in its competition to win a pair of tickets for the International Air Day at RNAS Yeovilton which is taking place on Saturday (July 11, 2015).

There were three pairs of tickets to be won with people having to correctly answer the question of what anniversary is Yeovilton celebrating this year.

The answer is 75. Seventy-five years since Yeovilton was commissioned as HMS Heron in June 1940.

The Yeovil Press received more than 300 entries for the competition – with all the winning names put into the hat.

The winners have been picked out by an independent adjudicator and they are – Rita Wright, of Yeovil; Kamila Jacobsen, of Barwick; and Kate Linnell, of Yeovil.

Steve Sowden, of the Yeovil Press, said: “Many thanks to everyone who took part and congratulations to the winners – we hope they have a great day at Air Day.”
