GLOVERS NEWS: What was a Good Friday turns into a Nightmare Friday in just 12 disastrous minutes

YEOVIL Town’s disastrous season was summed-up in 12 mad minutes of the second-half in this afternoon’s Sky Bet League One match at Huish Park against Chesterfield.

Rock bottom Glovers were looking good when Sam Foley put Yeovil 2-0 up on 57 minutes and on course for a rare three-point haul.

But then Yeovil somehow managed to hit the self-destruct button and found themselves 3-2 down by the 69th minute with goals from Sam Hird and a brace from Jay OShea.

It was a terrible turnaround in fortunes which has left Yeovil on the brink of relegation. Although it may have just slowed down the inevitable, a win would have at least given Yeovil fans something to cheer.GLOVERS NEWS: What was a Good Friday turns into a Nightmare Friday in just 12 disastrous minutes

But the Glovers could not even provide them with that despite holding a two-goal advantage with little over half-an-hour to go.

After a poor opening ten minutes to the game from Yeovil, the Glovers began to get into their stride and broke the deadlock on inside 20 minutes when James Hayter scored after getting on the end of a through ball from Gozie Ugwu.

Yeovil could have found themselves back level within minutes, however, but for a couple of great saves from Glovers keeper Artur Krysiak to deny Drew Talbot and then Byron Harrison.

Chesterfield went even closer later in the first-half when Jimmy Ryan’s cross hit the bar and away from danger.

Yeovil went 2-0 up in the opening exchanges of the second period when Sam Foley broke through with the defence caught asleep and scored past the Chesterfield keeper.

Chesterfield got one back through Sam Hird and then equalised through Jay O’Shea on 66 minutes.

Unbelievably Chesterfield then went 3-2 up moments later when O’Shea netted again.

Yeovil now find themselves 12 points from safety with just six games to go.
