CLUB NEWS: Huish Park evelopment plans go on display

NEW plans to develop part of Yeovil Town Football Club’s 25-acre site at Huish Park will go on public display later today (Friday, January 23, 2015).

The proposals have been described as being “very different” to the controversial food superstore proposals which were withdrawn from the planning process at South Somerset District Council in June last year.

Now the club is looking for a mixed-use development along with community facilities and traffic measures.

The club hopes these new proposals – if successful – will help to provide funds for the future development of the Huish Park stadium itself and football facilities.CLUB NEWS: Huish Park evelopment plans go on display

A public consultation will take place from today between 3pm and 8pm; tomorrow (Saturday, January 24, 2015) between 11am to 2.30pm and from 5pm to 7pm; and on Sunday (January 25, 2015) from 11am to 2pm.

A club spokesman said: “The general public, Yeovil Town supporters and political groups are being encouraged to take part in the consultation sessions.

“The club’s planning consultancy team would like to hear your views.”

The consultation will take place in the recently constructed marquee at the away end of the stadium. The marquee was initially put up to act as a media centre for when Yeovil Town played host to Manchester United in the FA Cup Third Round on January 4, 2015.
