YEOVIL Town suffered fresh disappointment on Saturday (September 27, 2014) when they fell to a 2-0 defeat at Crawley Town in the Sky Bet League One.

It came seven days after Yeovil had produced arguably one of their best performances of the season with a 1-0 success over Peterborough United at Huish Park.

The first-half at Crawley finished 0-0, but Yeovil were probably the better of the two sides and held the upper hand.

But things turned incredibly stale in the second period and Marvin Elliott scored two headers to give Crawley the three points.

Ironically, the match-winner had been on trial at Yeovil during the summer looking for a club, but had been turned down by Glovers’ boss Gary Johnson because he felt the player was not at the right level of fitness.

Even more irony for Johnson is that Elliott was one of his players while he was manager at Bristol City.
