CLUB NEWS: Arsenal legend Tony Adams at Yeovil Town

ARSENAL legend Tony Adams was among the spectators at today’s (Sunday, July 27, 2014) Yeovil Town and Cardiff City pre-season friendly at Huish Park.

Adams spent his entire playing career of 22 years as a defender with Arsenal where he made 668 appearances and scored 47 goals between 1983 and 2002. He also gained 66 international caps with England in which he scored five goals.

Since his playing days Adams has had managerial experience with Wycombe Wanderers, Portsmouth and Azerbaijani club Gabala.

But today he was in South Somerset and watching among a crowd of 2,018 as Cardiff ran out comfortable 4-1 pre-season friendly winners over Yeovil.

Among those to grab a photo with the former Arsenal and England captain, now aged 47, were the sons of Yeovil Town assistant manager Terry Skiverton, himself a centre-half during his playing days, similar to Adams.

“My boys met a true football legend today,” said Skiverton on social networking Twitter. “Not many left.”
