Blackburn Rovers v Yeovil Town: Bad performances and three points don’t happen in Championship

YEOVIL Town manager Gary Johnson has always been proud of the fact that he likes to get his teams playing attractive attacking football - but even he would swap all that for a poor performance and three points this afternoon (Good Friday, April 18, 2014) at Blackburn Rovers.

The Glovers have just four games left in which to secure their Sky Bet Championship status for a second season.

And a trip to Blackburn Rovers, who are chasing for a play-off spot, is not exactly what the doctor would prescribe to ease that run-in.Blackburn Rovers v Yeovil Town: Bad performances and three points don’t happen in Championship

But Johnson said: “We will have to go for it – a point isn’t going to be good enough on the day.

“But Blackburn will be thinking the same – a point isn’t good enough for them either.”

Johnson said Yeovil need at least three wins from their remaining four games to stand any chance of surviving the drop and that it would be “nice to tick off one of the wins” at Blackburn.

It could mean that Yeovil might have to look at their tactics and dig and grind out an ugly win with a less than impressive display.

“I would 100 per cent take a dreadful performance at Blackburn and three points,” said Johnson.

But he added: “Unfortunately in the Championship you don’t get three points it you put in a dreadful performance.”
