YEOVIL Town saw their five-match unbeaten run come to an end tonight (Tuesday, March 11, 2014) with a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Huish Park to Ipswich Town in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Glovers, who had gone into the game having drawn three and won two in their last five outings, were hoping to get some more points on the board to help in their battle to avoid relegation.Yeovil Town 0, Ipswich Town 1: Disappointing night for Glovers

Gary Johnson’s men started brightly and took the game to Ipswich with young Tom Lawrence looking particularly dangerous.

But Yeovil could not make their early advantage count and the score remained 0-0 and then Ipswich gained the only goal of the night when Christophe Berra netted five minutes from half-time from close range.

Yeovil made a double substitution at half-time by taking off strikers Ishmael Miller and James Hayter and replacing them with Kieffer Moore and Sam Hoskins.

The second period was a hugely disappointing affair with Ipswich satisfied to sit on their one-goal lead.

The closest Yeovil came to pulling level was in stoppage time when Moore saw an effort hit the woodwork.

But, all in all, it was a classic smash and grab raid by the visitors.
