AN online auction to buy a trashed trampoline which got blown up into a tree on a main road in Yeovil during a storm has reached its first major milestone figure - £50.

The trampoline is in need of repair and a bit (well, a lot actually) of TLC in order for it to come bouncing back to life – but it could be yours by bidding for it on eBay.Will YOU give this trampoline some TLC to bring it bouncing back to life?

It was first reported on Saturday (March 8, 2014) that owner Lindsey Burningham had put the trampoline up for sale on eBay as a way of raising money for charity.

The trampoline made local and national headlines last month on Valentine’s Day when storm force winds blew it from Lindsey’s back garden, over her house and into a tree overlooking the busy Preston Road.

Lindsey admits the trampoline suffered “substantial damage” during the incident and as firefighters retrieved it from the tree – but she is hoping the eBay auction will prove a money-earner for the Alzheimer’s Society.

She is raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of her mother, Pat Phillipson, who died of the disease in July 2013 aged 68.

So far the eBay auction has seen 27 bids placed (as at 8.15am on Wednesday, March 12, 2014) with the highest currently standing at £50.

But we want to see that figure go much higher.

Closing date for bids for the trampoline is March 18, 2014, at 6.20pm so there is still plenty of time.
