Eddie Mitchell always welcome at Yeovil Town – as a fan!

YEOVIL Town have said that no meetings have taken place with Bournemouth property developer Eddie Mitchell.

There had been growing speculation that the former AFC Bournemouth chairman was interested in getting involved with the Glovers because Mr Mitchell had been seen at recent Yeovil games at Huish Park.

But the club has put out a statement on its official website today (Tuesday, February 25, 2014) to “clarify the situation.”

Majority shareholders Norman Hayward and chairman John Fry said: “No discussions have taken place with Mr Mitchell regarding investment in the club and none are planned.”

But they added: “Mr Mitchell is always welcome as yet another Yeovil Town supporter.”

Mr Fry and Mr Hayward said they were “totally focussed” on the ongoing planning application to develop the northern part of the Huish Park site and the stadium itself.

They have said that the planning application to build a foodstore on the Huish Park site would be heard by South Somerset District Council on April 2, 2014.
