Upgrade planned for a Yeovil post office

YEOVIL MP David Laws has welcomed the news that a post office in the town is to be upgraded.

Mr Laws told the Yeovil Press today (Tuesday, February 25, 2014) that he was delighted to hear that the Sandhurst Post Office on West Coker Road in Yeovil will soon be upgraded to a new main style branch.Upgrade planned for a Yeovil post office

Customers using the post office in the future will benefit from longer opening hours, a new open plan environment and the car tax post office service, as well as the same products and services that are currently available.

The branch on West Coker Road will close for refurbishment on Saturday, March 22, 2014, and is scheduled to open again the following week on Saturday, March 29.

The Post Office is in the process of upgrading around 6,000 of its branches, about half the Post Office network, as part of the largest investment and support programme in its history.

Mr Laws said: “The Post Office is upgrading many of its branches across the country and I am really pleased that people in Yeovil will benefit from this investment when the Sandhurst post office on West Coker Road is refurbished in March.

“The longer opening hours will be much more convenient for people who work long hours and sometimes have trouble finding a convenient time to get to the post office.”
