Johnson can't wait for first Yeovil Town home win

FIVE home games this season at Huish Park and five straight defeats for Yeovil Town. Any normal season and that record would have supporters screaming from the rooftops for the board to be sacked, the manager to be shown the exit door and players to be dropped. But this is no ordinary season.Johnson can't wait for first Yeovil Town home win

And Yeovil manager Gary Johnson has said he “cannot wait” for the team to achieve their first win at home at Huish Park this season as a way of thanking the fans for their support in the club’s first-ever campaign in the Sky Bet Championship.

“This club has done fantastic to get to this level,” he said. “If we weren’t playing well then people who pay the money to come and watch us are entitled to have their opinion.”

But Yeovil have been playing well this season and have been competing in matches.

A few goals here and there and a referee’s decision to go in their favour and the results will come – and the fans, in the main, know that.

And Johnson said: “I can’t wait for the first home win as a way of thanking the supporters for sticking with us.

“We want them to stick with us.”

Johnson added: “I’m keeping faith with the squad right now, but if I have to make one or two changes I will.”
