Football: Ipswich Town 2, Yeovil Town 1: Glovers go down at Portman Road

A SEVEN-MINUTE spell midway through the second-half saw Yeovil Town’s 1-0 lead turn into a 2-1 defecit at Portman Road tonight (Tuesday, September 17) in the Sky Bet Championship.

Yeovil had gone into the game at Ipswich Town on the back of a battling 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and the Glovers gained the advantage just before the interval when Joel Grant netted.

But Ipswich bounced back after the break and drew level in the 53rd minute when Daryl Murphy scored.

The hosts then took the lead on the hour mark when Aaron Cresswell netted.

Ipswich then maintained the 2-1 lead to take the three points.

The result saw Yeovil move back down into the relegation zone of the Sky Bet Championship.

Now next up for Yeovil will be on Saturday (Sept 21) and the visit of Queens Park Rangers to Huish Park.
