Rugby: Ivel Barbarians 1sts go down fighting in opener

IVEL Barbarians 1sts played some great rugby in their opening game of the 2013-14 season but eventually went down 29pts-13 at Dorchester.

Yeovil-based Ivel produced some great stuff on Saturday in the first match of the campaign and were leading at the interval.

But Dorchester upped their game in the second period and with Ivel having suffered two sin-bins the home team made their advantage count to take the victory and the points in the Southern Counties South division.

Ivel will have taken great heart from their first-half display and will be hoping to continue that on Saturday (Sept 21) when they play host to Walcot at their Dorchester   Road home.
