Football: Danny is a leader, says Yeovil Town boss
YEOVIL Town manager Gary Johnson may not have said categorically that centre-half Danny Seaborne had signed for the Glovers – but he gave every indication that the defender had joined the Huish Park outfit.
The news, as expected, was later formally announced on the club’s website, but Johnson did not confirm the signing during his after-match press conference tonight following the 5-0 defeat against Swansea City.
But he added: “He’s had his medical and a contract has been drawn up.”
Johnson said that Seaborne and fellow centre-half Byron Webster had done “alright” in the opening half of tonight’s friendly with the Premier League visitors.
“He’s got experience and is a bit of a leader,” added the Yeovil boss.
The 26-year-old defender is a former Southampton, Exeter City and AFC Bournemouth man and made his first appearance for the Glovers on Tuesday night in the 2-0 defeat at Torquay United.
The 6ft 3ins defender has signed a two-year contract.
But Johnson added: "We still have to get a couple more defenders in."
