Football: Yeovil Town DON'T NEED bouncy castles to bounce back!

THE Yeovil Press would like to point out that the players of Yeovil Town FC are NOT about to embark on using bouncy castles and other giant inflatables for training sessions.

We ran a story yesterday (April 1) in conjunction with the Yeovil-based Fun Zone team of Mark Burlinson and Neil Mapletoft which suggested that they were devising training programmes for the players with it believed that working out on a bouncy castle would be good for lower body strength, balance and jumping.

But this story was obviously an April Fool’s Day joke – although it may have been believed by some fans.

But Mark said: “We’re actually thinking about putting together some sort of circuit training programme – it could work; we all need to lose a bit of weight.”

Yeovil Town, meanwhile, yesterday showed they did not need a bouncy castle to show they had the vital bounce-back-ability with a much-needed 2-1 npower League One victory at Notts County.

Neil added: “We’ve been more than happy to take along the Fun Zone to a few Yeovil Town events and we’ll be more than happy to continue supporting them in the future.

“And, no joking apart, if the players want to come over and bounce about on our inflatables – they’d be more than welcome!”
