Football: Big game for Yeovil Town

YEOVIL Town are back in npower League One action again today (Easter Monday) and will be looking for a much-needed three-point haul from their visit to Notts County.Football: Big game for Yeovil Town

The Glovers have now gone eight games with just one victory following their 0-0 draw with Walsall at Huish Park on Friday.

Now Yeovil go to Nottingham today knowing that they need to find that winning form to keep up their promotion aspirations.

Yeovil are just one place outside the play-off zone in seventh spot – just one point behind sixth-placed Tranmere Rovers, but with a game in hand.

Things are still very close at the top of the table with Yeovil actually only trailing second-placed Bournemouth by five points.

NottsCounty’s play-off hopes are virtually over with them down in tenth spot and eight points off the top six with only five games to play.

But Yeovil boss Gary Johnson knows that it will not be an easy game this afternoon and will be hoping to have his skipper Jamie McAllister back available for action following suspension and injury.

‘’It is touch and go as to whether he will be available,’’ said Johnson after Friday’s 0-0 draw with Walsall. ‘’But he will be available if he is fit, although he hasn’t trained.’’

If McAllister is fit – it would be surprising if he was not included in the starting line-up to face County this afternoon.
