YEOVIL Town suffered a disappointing night tonight (Tuesday) when they saw a 2-0 lead wiped out by visiting Crawley Town in the npower League One.Football: Yeovil Town 2, Crawley Town 2

The Glovers were in total control inside 20 minutes with goals from Byron Webster and Paddy Madden.

But Crawley hit back in the second period with Joe Walsh and Matthew Sparrow bringing their side level with two goals.

There was an enthralling and nerve-jingling final ten minutes or so as both teams came to winning the match.

Joe Edwards nearly gave Yeovil the points, but he saw his effort hit the woodwork.

Yeovil keeper Marek Stech had to pull off a great save to deny Connor Essam from scoring for Crawley and then the visitors themselves hit the post through Mike Jones.Football: Yeovil Town 2, Crawley Town 2

The result and others from around the country saw Yeovil slip to sixth in the table – still in a play-off position.

But they know that they could have jumped to third – level with second-placed Sheffield United – had they won tonight.

And Yeovil will be kicking themselves that they had the game in their grasp with that early 2-0 lead, but failed to seize the initiative and see the game out.

The Glovers are now without a game until next Tuesday when Swindon Town are the visitors to Huish Park in a match which will be televised live on Sky Sports.

Swindon are currently fourth in the table – just above Yeovil on goal difference only.

It makes next Tuesday’s showdown at Huish Park a massive game and should attract, one would think, a big crowd through the turnstiles.
