Football: Centurion Upson adds a new best goal to his list

CENTURION Ed Upson (pictured) will now have a new one to talk about when asked what has been his ‘best goal’ for Yeovil Town.Football: Centurion Upson adds a new best goal to his list

Upson, who was making his 100th appearance for the Glovers yesterday in the npower League One match with Brentford, celebrated in fine style by smashing home a 30-yard pile-driver which left visiting keeper Simon Moore stranded and Yeovil fans dancing with delight.

While yesterday’s game saw him chalk up 100 goals, it was probably made even nicer by the fact that he netted his tenth goal for the Glovers since joining the club in the summer of 2010.

Upson concentrated on becoming a member of the Yeovil Town 100 Club in yesterday’s matchday programme.

‘’Inevitably when talking about 100 appearances the question of high and lows, best goals etc crops up,’’ he said.

‘’When it comes to highs I guess my major high hasn’t come yet although I am really hoping that the end of this season will bring one with a play-off place and maybe a Wembley final.’’

Upson added: ‘’Where lows are concerned my two sending offs are up there, but in the overall football picture I have nothing really major to class an all-time low.

‘’My best goals have been against Wycombe and Fleetwood Town, which was especially pleasing as it was live on TV.’’

Football: Centurion Upson adds a new best goal to his listThere is no doubt that Upson will now be having to include his goal from yesterday in that list – a goal which helped Yeovil to a 3-0 win which put them level on points with sixth-placed Sheffield United.

Yeovil Town are on a roll at the moment and who is say that Upson might not be adding another ‘high’ to his list come May?
