Skittles: Wagtail march on at the top

YELLOW Wagtail B marched on at the top of Division One in the Yeovil Skittles League with their 11th straight win with a 51-pin success over second-placed Conservative Club.

A knock of 62 by M. Clemente helped Wagtail to a comfortable win which now sees them with a massive 33-point advantage over their nearest rivals.

Westland Choppers suffered their third defeat of the campaign when they went down 11-1 to Traders, while the only other game of the week in Division One saw a 10-2 success for Westland A over Eight Stars.

The results could play a major role in the destination of this season’s championship. While Wagtail were winning to open up that huge lead, the three teams below them – Conservative Club, Westland Choppers and Eight Stars – all lost.

Young Lions are 23-points clear at the top of Division Two after their 11th win of the season with a 10-2 success over Blake and Fox.

Second-placed Morley Exiles sneaked in to their eighth win of the campaign with a 9-3 success over RAOB B.

Division Four leaders Maca’s Muppets have seen their lead at the top of Division Three reduced to just one point after they lost 11-1 to Bull Inn.

Second-placed Oddballs closed the gap on the leaders when they defeated Three at a Time 8-4.

Cannon Fodder are looking strong in top spot in Division Four with a 12-0 success over Left, Right, Dorset.
