Heavy rain this morning and early afternoon had put the game in doubt, but referee Stephen Martin declared the pitch was playable despite the weather and the match went ahead as planned.

Ninety minutes later and the Yeovil fans in the 3,394 crowd were probably wishing it had not.

Mark Beck gave Carlisle a 21st minute lead and then he doubled his side's advantage just after the break with his second of the afternoon.

Yeovil substitute Reuben Reid reduced the deficit in the 65th minute to give Glovers' fans at rain-soaked Huish Park some hope, but the writing was on the wall when Joe Garner netted with 20 minutes to go to restore Carlisle's two-goal advantage.

Yeovil remain in 12th spot in the npower League One table.
