Staff will be ready to take advanced bookings, which start at just £8, from people hoping to win a Suzuki Alto car. FJ Chalke, who sponsor the concluding bumper on Thursday’s card, has donated the prize which all advanced bookings for Boxing Day are eligible to win, and there’s an added bonus that everyone who pre-books will also receive a two for the price of one voucher for the prestigious Bathwick Tyres Kingwell Hurdle Day on February 16.

Meanwhile, Thursday’s card has attracted a strong entry with the eliteracingclub.co.uk Racing Excellence “Hands and Heels’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle kicking off the card at 1pm.

Next up is the Cpm Stewart Pyper Memorial Handicap Chase run over two miles. Bathwick Tyres sponsor two races – the handicap hurdle over two miles four furlongs and the long distance handicap chase.

A novices’ hurdle over two miles six furlongs is sponsored by the South West Racing Club with the European Breeders/Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Mares’ Novices’ Chase over two miles five furlongs also on the card.

Wincanton’s general manager Steve Partlett said: “We have just two meetings to go before Wincanton’s flagship fixture on Boxing Day and with a car up for grabs for all pre-booked tickets presales are going exceptionally well.

“There’s plenty of quality among this Thursday’s entries and we’re looking forward to another fantastic day of racing at Wincanton.”

Gates open at 11am with tickets available on the day from £14.For more information, visit www.wincantonracecourse.co.uk .
