Football: Yeovil Town have ''stuffing knocked out of them''

YEOVIL Town assistant manager Terry Skiverton (pictured) has said that the goal the Glovers conceded right on the stroke of half-time ''knocked the stuffing'' out of team as they went on to lose 3-2 at Tranmere Rovers.

The Glovers were looking good at 2-0 with goals from Paddy Madden and Sam Foley, but Tranmere reduced the deficit just before the break through James Wallace.

Tranmere went on to win the game in the second period with goals from Jake Cassidy and Danny Holmes, while Yeovil saw full-back Joe Edwards sent-off for two bookable offences.

And Skiverton, speaking to the BBC, said: ''I thought for the first 40 minutes we were outstanding today. I thought that we could have had maybe one or two more goals in that period.

''But you can see why Tranmere are top of the League. The timing of their goal right on half time seemed to knock the stuffing out of us a little bit. The positives are that our start was excellent. But it was just that 15 or 20 minute spell in the second half, where we didn't stand up to a good Tranmere team, where their fans really got behind them."
