FINAL preparations are being made by members of the Yeovil Amateur Pantomime Society ahead of their annual feast of panto hilarity.LEISURE: Disco panto with Jack and the Beanstalk Photo 1

The group will be performing the ever-popular panto Jack and the Beanstalk – with a difference - at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil from Tuesday, January 22, through to Saturday, January 26.

Following the group’s rock and roll spectacular, Beauty and the Beast, the gang is now looking forward to presenting its latest fun-filled family panto.

This time the audience-goers are being encouraged to get out their flares and put on those shades as YAPS step into a Boogie Wonderland.

With fantastic 70s themed disco music and energetic dance routines; not forgetting a good dose of slapstick, plenty of jokes and heaps of audience participation, people are sure to get a ‘funky fever’.

This disco-tastic pantomime tells the story of Jack, played by Maia Henley, a boy who ventures up a huge Beanstalk to save his one true love, Anastasia Hayward’s Jill. Along the way he meets a fearsome giant, magical disco diva fairy and plenty of other crazy characters!

Directed and choreographed by Felicity Keirle, assisted by Jez Smith and with musical direction by Bill Osborn, this groovy panto will definitely get your toes tapping!

The shows run nightly with a Saturday matinee on January 26.

Tickets are available from the YAPS box office on 07772260570, the Octagon box office on 01935-422884 or from the Octagon’s website at www.octagon-theatre.co.uk
