GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town given home Quarter-Final tie in EFL Trophy

YEOVIL Town have been given a home tie in the Quarter-Finals of the EFL Checkatrade Trophy which will be played later this month.

The draw was made on Thursday (January 11, 2018) evening and Yeovil have been given a tie with Fleetwood Town, of League One, at Huish Park which will take place in the week beginning Monday, January 22, 2018.

Former Yeovil Town favourite Paddy Madden, who played a key role in the Glovers’ promotion season to The Championship in 2012-13, recently moved from Scunthorpe United to Fleetwood.

But Madden will not feature in the Yeovil game – as he will be cup-tied having already played in the Checkatrade Trophy this season with Scunthorpe.

The match with Fleetwood is currently expected to be be played a few days before the Glovers’ big FA Cup Fourth Round clash with Manchester United which is scheduled to be played on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 7.55pm kick-off.

The other Quarter-Final ties are as follows: Lincoln City v Peterborough United; Shrewsbury Town v Oldham Athletic or Leicester City Under-21s; Chelsea Under-21s v Oxford United.
