GLOVERS NEWS: Excellent Yeovil Town gain three much-needed points

YEOVIL Town produced a fantastic performance on Saturday (December 23, 2017) to defeat visiting Exeter City at Huish Park.

Exeter arrived at Huish Park flying high in the Sky Bet League Two table with the Glovers at the wrong end of the table scrapping to stay above the relegation zone.

But league placings were turned upside down on an afternoon of drama for the Yeovil fans in the crowd of 4,834 with the Glovers turning on the style.

Jake Gray gave Yeovil the lead on 41 minutes and then just two minutes after the start of the second period Francois Zokok netted to double the Glovers advantage.

The 1,506 travelling Exeter fans were given hope of rescuing a point when Jayden Stockley reduced the deficit in the closing stages.

But there was no doubting the destination of the three points when Sam Surridge scored on 88 minutes to put Yeovil 3-1 up.
