LEISURE: Swan Theatre full of laughter as charity musical is a hit

A MUSICAL currently being performed at the Swan Theatre in Yeovil is proving a big hit with those people who have already been and watched.

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change opened at the Swan on Tuesday (July 25, 2017) and runs through until Saturday (July 29, 2017).

The production is being put on by Yeovil’s very own Octagon Theatre as a way of raising money for The Foyer Club - the team of volunteers who dedicate hours of their time to supporting the Octagon through front of house stewarding duties and three yearly mail outs of 20,000 seasonal brochures for the venue.LEISURE: Swan Theatre full of laughter as charity musical is a hit

As well as this work, the Foyer Club regularly fundraises for the theatre in order to help the venue to progress and develop.

The musical has a cast of four including Adam Burgan who is the arts and entertainment venues manager of the Octagon and the newly-refurbished Westlands Yeovil complex.

Adam is joined on stage by Jennifer Holland-Brewer and Ellie Driver, known to many from their performances with Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society, and Cameron Isherwood who performs regularly at the McMillan Theatre in Bridgwater.

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is ‘a hilarious musical revue’ taking the format of a series of scenes and songs all about romantic relationships: beginning with awkward first dates and progressing through marriage, children and into later life.

As well as the comedy throughout there are some charming poignant moments that many people can relate to – making the show an audience favourite.

But it is the comedy which is doing the trick for audiences so far.

One person said: “If you haven’t seen this you are totally missing out. Funniest thing I’ve seen in ages – go and see it. It really is that good.”

Another wrote: “I was laughing for virtually the entire show. I came out of the Swan Theatre with a massive smile.”

Tickets for the show are available via the Octagon Theatre box office on 01935-422884, via the website at www.octagon-theatre.co.uk or in person at the theatre.
