GLOVERS NEWS: Déjà vu for Yeovil Town

A LATE goal denied Yeovil Town once again of a three-point haul when Cambridge United struck right at the death to earn a 1-1 draw at Huish Park on Tuesday (February 14, 2017) night.

The Glovers had been held to a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient on Saturday (February 11, 2017) after taking a lead through Francois Zoko only for Gavin Massey to pull the visitors level on 88 minutes.

Tuesday night saw Zoko give Yeovil the lead again on 78 minutes, but the Glovers failed to hold on for the win once again when Barry Corr netted on 89 minutes.

A very disappointing end once again for the players, Yeovil Town boss Darren Way and the Glovers’ supporters in the 2,847 crowd at Huish Park.

If the two matches with Leyton Orient and Cambridge United had been played over a combined total of 177 minutes rather than 180 – Yeovil Town would have had an extra four points in the bag.

As it was the result left Yeovil Town down in 16th in the League Two table with 38 points from 31 games – nine points above the relegation zone and nine points of the play-off zone.
