GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town miss out in shootout

YEOVIL Town lost out 5-3 on penalties on Tuesday (October 4, 2016) at Bristol Rovers in the Checkatrade Trophy.

The actual 90 minutes of play resulted in a 0-0 scoreline with Kevin Dawson being sent-off for Yeovil on 74 minutes for a second bookable offence.

The match went straight to penalties and Rovers were spot on with their five kicks while although Ryan Dickson, Izale McLeod and Alex Lawless netted for Yeovil, Ryan Hedges was unsuccessful and the home side reached their unassailable lead when Cristian Montano scored.

The Checkatrade Trophy is based – initially on a group basis – and Yeovil took one point from the 0-0 draw, while Rovers collected two points for winning the penalty shootout.
