GLOVERS NEWS: Hard earned point for Yeovil Town

YEOVIL Town’s unbeaten start to the 2016-17 season continued this afternoon (Saturday, August 13, 2016) with a good 1-1 draw at Luton Town in the SkyBet League Two.

Stephen O’Donnell gave Luton the lead on 26 minutes at Kenilworth Road with a glorious strike from 20 yards out.

Yeovil’s injury problems – especially in defence – were not enhanced when centre-half Alex Lacey had to go off shortly after Luton’s goal.

Skipper Ryan Dickson also picked-up a knock just before the break and looked to be struggling, but he dug in and played for the remainder of the match.

Yeovil battled on and got what they deserved on 78 minutes when Yeovil striker Tom Eaves headed home a Kevin Dawson cross.

The Glovers nearly gained all three points near the end when a Matt Dolan free-kick went narrowly over the bar.

But it was another positive performance and result for Yeovil and they have now picked-up four points from their opening two games.

They travel to Mansfield on Tuesday (August 16, 2016) for another League Two fixture.

Yeovil are back at home next Saturday (August 20, 2016) when Morecambe are the visitors to Huish Park in a 3pm start.
