GLOVERS NEWS: Awful start costs dear for YeovilTown

A DISASTROUS opening 35 minutes spelt doom for Yeovil Town when they found themselves 3-0 down at Huish Park yesterday (Saturday, October 24, 2015) in the Sky Bet League Two fixture with Cambridge United.

Woeful play by Yeovil saw them fall a goal behind after just four minutes through Rory Gaffney who then doubled Cambridge’s lead on 26 minutes.

Luke Berry made it 3-0 to the visitors in the 35th minute as Yeovil fans looked on disbelieving at how bad their side was playing.

Ryan Bird gave Yeovil hope when he netted on the brink of half-time to reduce the deficit – but there was still a mountain to climb.

Yeovil, admittedly, came out much better in the second period (it could not have been any worse than the first 45 minutes) and they took the game to Cambridge.

Josh Sheehand pulled it back to 3-2 with 11 minutes remaining, but Yeovil could not find that elusive leveller.

If it had not been for that awful start to the game Yeovil might have gained something for their second-half efforts.

The result kept Yeovil in the bottom two of the League Two table.
