SOMERSET NEWS: One Direction disappointment for fans

POLICE have rubbished speculation that leading boy band One Direction were set to visit Shepton Mallet for some filming work this week.

A police spokesman said: “Earlier today (Tuesday, April 1, 2014) we heard the rumours sweeping the town that One Direction would be visiting Shepton Mallet tomorrow.

“We’ve checked as we would have needed to put in an appropriate police response – but we’re afraid to say that there are no plans for One Direction to film tomorrow or indeed visit the town in the future.”

The spokesman, speaking on the police’s social media Facebook page, added: “Please don’t turn up hoping to catch a glimpse of them as you will be disappointed.”
