Locals are invited to come to the store to take part in a wide range of fun activities, including football, face painting and a competition to draw Colonel Sanders, while there will also be a raffle and a cake stall.

The Houndstone restaurant was opened in November last year by YeovilTown manager Gary Johnson and players.

Area manager for KFC Somerset, Luke Matthews, said: “We’re proud to be supporting these two great charities and we’re really looking forward to welcoming local families to this fun day.

‘’Hopefully we can raise lots of money for a great cause.”

KFC staff have taken part in activities to support WFP since 2007, raising £4m in the process. WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. Each year, it gives food to 100 million poor people to meet their nutritional needs, including 58 million hungry children, in 80 of the world’s poorest countries.
