Retro Bling exhibition

FASHION may come and go, but the showing off of bling is forever and is now the subject of a new exhibition.

Staff and volunteers at the Community Heritage Access Centre in Yeovil have chosen objects from its collection that are considered being Retro Bling.Retro Bling exhibition

Ranging from the Alfred Jewel to a Mary Quant handbag, from colourful eighteenth century costume to ornate jewellery and accessories, showing off ones wealth has been around forever.

People are invited to visit Bruton Museum and see if they would wear any of the Retro Bling and whether there’s anything you think has been missed. Bruton Museum is open weekdays from 11am-1pm and Saturdays 11am-3pm.

Cllr Sylva Seal, of South Somerset District Council, said: “The exhibition will showcase many different objects considered to be retro bling from the past. It gives the public the opportunity to see range of items that were used to show off wealth as well as some colourful eighteenth century costumes.”

The exhibition started on June 4 and runs until Monday, July 29.
