Home Farm Fest for Piers Simon Appeal is getting bigger

PLANS for this year’s Home Farm Fest at Chilthorne Domer in aid of the Piers Simon Appeal and its School in a Bag initiative are progressing well.Home Farm Fest for Piers Simon Appeal is getting bigger

Charity liaison officer Luke Simon has said the music festival will also be bigger than ever before, but with the added bonus that ticket prices have been reduced.

The festival will be held on June 7-9 at Home Farm and there will be three stages and feature more than 40 bands and musicians over the three days.

Luke said: “We will also be increasing the market area with more stall holders and expanding on the rural craft section.

“And to top this – ticket prices have been reduced. A weekender ticket will cost just £30!”

The PSA was formed following the death of former Yeovil College student Piers Simon, 33, in the Asian tsunami of Boxing Day 2004 while he was holidaying in Thailand.

The charity’s School in a Bag initiative helps to provide what it says – important school equipment in a bag for children in developing countries across the world.

Each bag costs £15 and so far – THANKS TO THE GENEROUS HELP AND SUPPORT OF SO MANY PEOPLE – thousands have been distributed around the globe.

Luke said: “Reducing the cost means that for the price of two School in a Bags you will be able to have great and cheap festival weekend watching talented musicians at a cost of just 75p per band or act – now that can’t be bad?”

He said that the final line-up of acts to be performing at Home Farm Fest, which will be the eighth event, will be announced soon. The previous seven festivals have so far amassed around £95,000 for the charity’s funds.
